About
David is a Data Scientist at Digital Science & Research Solutions, Ltd., where he works on projects designed to help government funders understand research trends and topics. These projects range from training machine learning models to perform topical analyses to building dashboards that narrate results for clients. He received a doctorate in Genomics and Computational Biology from the University of Pennsylvania (Penn). At Penn, he utilized Deep Learning models (recurrent neural networks, feed-forward networks, and transformers) to perform Natural Language Processing tasks such as text mining, document categorization, and detecting semantic shifts within biomedical text across time. When he isn’t working, he spends time learning about financial literacy and investing in the stock market.
